As part of the fulfilment of the Provincial Decentralised Governance Bodies Program (POGDP) for the 2020-24 five-year period, the Governor of the Province of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, this Saturday (31-08) inaugurated a youth centre in Ancuabe district.
Speaking after handing over the infrastructure, Governor Tauabo explained that the Youth, Employment and Sports sector would in the next few days hand over two other youth centres, in Pemba and Mecufi districts.
The youth centre in Ancuabe is a space for teenagers and young people to spend their leisure time, practising sports and professional activities. It will serve to keep teenagers and young people away from situations of risk and social vulnerability, and involved in actions that promote personal, professional and political development.
To ensure the sustainability of the centre, the government has provided two motorbikes for a taxi service, and two textile cutting and sewing machine kits.
On the other hand, to improve the flexibility of the EU SOU CAPAZ programme in general, six motorbikes were handed over to the governments of Pemba, Mecúfi, Metuge, Mueda, Chiúre and Montepuez districts, while the JOS TV association received cutting and sewing kits.
