The Government of Cabo Delgado bid farewell to the delegation that will represent the province at the 59th Edition of the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM). The farewell ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, and was led by the Provincial Governor, Valige Tauabo.
Reflecting on Cabo Delgado’s success as the best exhibiting province with the best stand at the 58th Edition, Governor Tauabo emphasized the delegation’s responsibility to uphold this reputation. He urged them to welcome visitors with a well-organized and fully equipped stand, providing relevant and engaging information with clarity, empathy, and confidence.
“We are heading to FACIM to promote the ‘Visit Cabo Delgado’ brand, Cabo Delgado Parks, the Provincial Center for Economic Development, with the aim of maintaining our province’s top position status by the end of the fair,” said Governor Tauabo.
He further highlighted the province’s motto for this edition: “Sharing Investment Opportunities to Accelerate Reconstruction, Industrialization, and Development.”
This year, the province will showcase its potential, introduce new products and services, attract investments, and establish partnerships and agreements to expedite the implementation of the Reconstruction Plan.
The Governor reiterated his call for the Cabo Delgado delegation to be proactive and dynamic in maintaining their leading position, while also stressing the importance of preserving the Mapiko dance, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage.
On behalf of the delegation, Nocif Francisco Magaia, who will represent the province at FACIM 2024, committed to attracting more investment opportunities and honoring the province.
This year, the Cabo Delgado delegation is composed of 181 companies that will highlight the province’s potential, share opportunities, and foster partnerships and investments to restore Cabo Delgado’s image as a safe and profitable destination for investments and to formalize business agreements.
