CD Parks is a network of industrial parks in the Montepuez, Balama, Ancuabe and Palma districts, and a logistics base in Pemba. This network, operated by MozParks, are designed to deliver three key objectives: to accelerate economic development, to promote and boost youth employment, and to develop the green economy. CD Parks is a part of the ASEZA (African Sustainable Economic Zone Alliance) network of eco-industrial parks.

The CD Parks model is designed to promote education, training, youth employment, community engagement and environmental sustainability.

Our Objectives

Natural Resources

The Province of Cabo Delgado is rich in gas, minerals and precious stones. It is home to one of the world’s largest reserves of natural gas, leading to multi-billion dollar Investments from TotalEnergies, ENI, Exxon, Syrah Resources (Twigg Exploration and Mining), Montepuez Ruby Mine and AMG Graphite GK. CD Parks promotes the role of local companies and works with service providers to build a strong platform for supplying international oil and gas companies operating in this Area.

Agriculture

Cabo Delgado Province has around 5.6 million hectares of arable land, of which around 1 million hectares are currently in use. The Province produces 2.8 million tonnes of food crops and 93000 tonnes of cash crops each year.

There is a strong opportunity for local farmers and producers to service the businesses investing in the province’s natural resources. Strengthening the agriculture value chain is an integral part of the CD Parks model. Logistical support and market access will increase smallholders’ incomes and boost growth in rural regions.

Administration

Cabo Delgado Province is divided into seventeen districts – Ancuabe, Balama, Chiúre, Ibo, Macomia, Mecúfi, Meluco, Metuge, Mocímboa da Praia, Montepuez, Mueda, Muidumbe, Namuno, Nangade, Palma, Pemba, Quissanga. The provincial capital is Pemba.

Tourism

Cabo Delgado Province has 430 km of coastline, containing panoramic beaches and the rich nature of the Quirimbus National Park. Tourists coming to the Province have wide variety restaurants, hotels and activities to choose from.
