Building Synergies for Cabo Delgado’s Growth
Leading private sector companies operating in Cabo Delgado have joined forces under the Private Sector Partnership for Development (PSPD) to promote inclusive and sustainable growth in northern Mozambique.

A Memorandum of Understanding, signed today by ExxonMobil Moçambique Limitada, Fundação, RESET (founded by members of the Ferreira dos Santos Family – JFS), the Mozambique LNG Foundation (founded by the Mozambique LNG consortium operated by TotalEnergies), Twigg Exploration and Mining Limitada (subsidiary of Syrah Resources), and Vodacom Moçambique Foundation, establishes a framework for synergies and collective action. The companies, already active in the province, recognised that a coordinated approach would enable the maximisation of their development contributions while reducing duplication and fostering collaboration around common objectives.
Narjess Saidane, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Mozambique LNG Foundation, described the initiative as a reflection of a shared commitment to concerted effort and intentional investments. “We all invest in Cabo Delgado’s socio economic priorities. By working together, we can align our actions and deliver greater impact in support of development policies“, she said.
A Partnership with Shared Goals
The Private Sector Partnership for Development is the result of over a year of collaboration and dialogue among its founding members. It seeks to coordinate private sector engagement around common objectives and ensure alignment with the national strategy for Cabo Delgado’s socio-economic development.
Through joint planning and transparent coordination, the PSPD provides a structured platform for partners to implement initiatives that directly contribute to the province’s priorities. The partnership aims to translate individual projects into collective progress.
“This is not a closed group” Ms Saidane noted. “It is an open invitation to others in the private sector to join us, strengthen synergies, and work towards shared goals for Cabo Delgado’s People.”
Aligning Efforts Towards a Common Vision
In a ceremony held in the presence of His Excellency Dr Valige Tauabo, Governor of Cabo Delgado Province, the signing marked a decisive step towards aligning business-driven development with public priorities. The provincial government welcomed the initiative as an example of concerted effort and genuine partnership between the public and private sectors.
The PSPD represents more than a formal agreement — it is a commitment to transform good intentions into measurable results through cooperation, maximisation of resources, and strong alignment with the national strategy.
