The Province of Cabo Delgado in the 2025/2026 Agricultural Marketing Campaign expects to sell 1,329,021 tons of various agricultural products, compared to 1,288,176 tons in the previous campaign.
The data was made public this Saturday, May 17, 2025, by the Governor of the Province of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, at the Administrative Post of Metoro, District of Ancuabe, at the Official Launch ceremony of the Agricultural Marketing Campaign at the Province level.
At the Agricultural Marketing Forum session held at the Metoro Administrative Post, Tauabo, he appealed to producers and traders to be careful in creating food reserves, and the need for surpluses to be passed on to the distribution and marketing circuit.
To local traders and industries, he highlighted the need to sell and absorb local raw materials in order to add value to the Province’s production.
The Administrator of the Ancuabe District, Belmiro Casimiro, speaking on the occasion, made it known that the District in the current marketing season expects to sell 106,325 tons of various agricultural products.
To ensure a good harvest in the current agricultural campaign, the authorities in the Ancuabe District have disseminated measures to be taken in the production process, such as advice to avoid early or late harvesting in order to guarantee good quality products.
In the current agricultural campaign, Ancuabe expects to produce a total of 188,441 tons of cereals, legumes, roots and tubers, in addition to vegetables.
The President of the Business Council in Cabo Delgado, Mahamudo Irache, reaffirmed CTA’s commitment to continue strengthening commercial and family agriculture, promoting partnerships that bring investment, innovation and added value to the production chain.
To this end, according to the director, he is working with associates to improve access to quality seeds and fertilizers, as well as encouraging agricultural mechanization and the use of technologies.
At the Agricultural Marketing Forum, GAPI – Development Finance Institution, the Cotton and Oilseeds Institute of Mozambique (IAOM) and the One-Stop Shop (BAU) presented the procedures for accessing financing for those involved in the marketing process, the licensing of individual and collective companies, as well as the marketing inspection process.
The occasion also served to deliver giant checks to those involved who will benefit from funding and to award diplomas of honor to those who stood out in the campaign that has just ended.
To ensure the placement of production, a memorandum of understanding for contract production was signed between the producers and the company Madopera Comercial, based in the Chiure District.
