The city of Pemba, the provincial capital of Cabo Delgado, hosted the 1st Regional Entrepreneurship Conference this Friday, May 23, 2025.
The event was organized by Cooperativa em Movimento, with the aim of promoting sustainable business development in the regional context.

Noémia Moisés, Executive Director of Cooperativa em Movimento, providing context for the 1st Regional Entrepreneurship Conference, explained that the event is a space for discussion, constructive dialogue where experiences and business opportunities will be shared in various areas.
The Governor of the Province of Cabo Delgado, Valige Tauabo, speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, said he hoped that the conference participants would leave the meeting with clear recommendations, and have strategic connections and concrete actions that will have an impact on the lives of entrepreneurs and the social fabric of the Province in the future.
“May this conference serve as inspiration, training and a starting point for new ideas, new partnerships and new paths”, said Tauabo.
Assif Osman, a businessman in Cabo Delgado, speaking on “Solutions for Entrepreneurship in the Context of Cabo Delgado,” stressed the need for young entrepreneurs to be guided by persistence in order to overcome all challenges.
Osman argues that entrepreneurs must invest in training, “education about entrepreneurship should start in childhood, from parents, and then be perfected through self-education in everyday life”.
In fact, he believes that education about entrepreneurship must be an integral part of the subjects taught in educational institutions in the country.
The following topics were addressed at the Regional Entrepreneurship Conference: Business Opportunities in Cabo Delgado, Innovation and Young Entrepreneurship, the Digital Revolution in Sustainable Agriculture and Promotion for the Development of the Northern Region, and Financing Opportunities.
