MozParks is presenting at the 3rd edition of the Mozambique Energy & Industry Summit (MEIS), taking place from 2-4 July in Cabo Delgado. This prestigious event gathers key national and international stakeholders, including government representatives and leading organizations from across the region, to share knowledge and drive business opportunities throughout the continent.
MozParks’ General Manager, Onorio Manuel, is speaking at the conference to share the company’s vision for sustainable socio-economic development in Cabo Delgado province. MozParks’ key message emphasizes that the socio-economic development of Cabo Delgado hinges on optimizing the value chain of megaprojects, particularly in the extractive and hydrocarbons industries, and explains the role of industrial parks in accommodating suppliers for these projects and adding value to raw materials.
“This vision is designed to attract investments to Mozambique, creating jobs for the youth of the community and the province, boosting entrepreneurship, and importantly, expanding the state’s tax base,” said Manuel in his recent interview for TV Miramar on Economy & Business.
MozParks’ Vision
As Mozambique’s sole operator of Sustainable Economic Zones, MozParks has leveraged the eco-industrial model to promote collective spaces where park tenants share resources to increase profitability, local production, and environmental care. The company offers a business-friendly climate with administrative support for licensing and compliance, quality infrastructure, 80 MW of power, and tax incentives, making Mozambique accessible for investment.
Looking ahead, MozParks has expansion plans in Cabo Delgado province through Cabo Delgado Parks, a network of industrial parks in the Montepuez, Balama, Ancuabe, and Palma districts, and a logistics base in Pemba. These parks will integrate within small communities and directly involve residents, creating employment and training opportunities and promoting community engagement. The three key objectives of this network of parks are to accelerate economic development, promote and boost youth employment, and develop the green economy.
