YOPIPILA Youth Center for Training and Innovation in Green Technologies in Pemba officially opened and future Center in Montepuez Announced.
Every year on November 1st, African Youth Day is celebrated, a date established in Banjul, Gambia, during the 9th Session of African Heads of State. This year, it will be observed under the theme “Preparing Africans for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems to Increase Access to Inclusive, Quality, and Continuous Learning in Africa.”
On October 29, 2024, Maria Lourdes Carrilho, Provincial Director of Youth, Employment, and Sports of Cabo Delgado, officially inaugurated the YOPIPILA center in Pemba. This center is dedicated to training young people in green technologies, such as building resilient houses using bottles, plastics, bags, zero-carbon blocks, cultivating medicinal plants, fruit farming, heliciculture (snail farming), and musical arts.
The construction models for the future center in Montepuez were also presented and approved, an event attended by District SDP Abudo Carlos, municipal councilors, academics, and youth sectors.
