The province of Cabo Delgado has in the last three years seen investment of more than 130 billion meticais (around US$2 billion, at current exchange rates) across various sectors.
The information was shared by provincial director of Industry, tourism and commerce, Nocifo Magaia, who highlighted the stabilisation of areas previously affected by terrorism as one of the factors contributing to the inflow of investment.
Speaking as part of Cabo Delgado’s preparations for this year’s edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM 2024), Magaia said that international businesspeople had expressed interest in investing in the province.
The potential of the maritime logistics sector is among the areas that Cabo Delgado will showcase at FACIM 2024, the provincial director of industry, tourism and trade said.
